Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium

The Fort and Palace of Tipu Sultan
A fascinating example of 18th century Indian military
architecture. This fort constituted the stronghold of
Hyder Ali and later his son Tipu Sultan, witnessing
several fierce and bloody battles during their times. The
fort was last used for military purposes as recently as
1888.
Lal Bagh
The Lal Bagh Botanical Gardens, which holds a number of
flower shows, especially during Republic Day (26th
January), is located on the southern fringes of the city.
Vidhana Soudha
This splendid neo-Dravidian granite building that
dominates the northern boundary of the Cubbon park, is the
home of the State Legislature and the Secretariat. The
massive sandalwood door of the Cabinet room is a
spectacular feature of this imposing building. The Vidhana
Soudha is bedecked in illuminated glory during special
periods and is a sight worth viewing. The building is open
for visitors only after 3 PM.
Cubbon Park
This beautiful park, sprawling across 300 acres, was laid
out by Lieutenant General Sir Mark Cubbon in 1864. The
park is green and dotted with fountains, statues and
flowering trees. Close to the park is the Bal Bhavan and
the Aquarium.
Jumma Masjid
The Jumma Masjid is probably the oldest mosque in the
city. It is an imposing structure with tall ornamented
granite pillars adorning the elevated prayer hall. Scores
of devote Muslim worshippers throng this masjid during the
annual festivals of the Muslims. It is located in the busy
market area of Bangalore, K.R.Market.

connecting the it to Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Coimbatore,
Goa, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Mangalore, Pune and
Thiruvananthapuram.

Bangalore is directly connected to Delhi by Rajdhani
