MALPE BEACH
At the mouth of the Malpe river, about 6 kms. from
Udupi, is the natural harbour of Malpe, an important
fishing centre that enriches Karnataka’s coastline with
its fabulous beach. The endless stretch of golden sand,
graciously swaying palm trees, clear blue sky and the
gentle murmur of the sea set the perfect mood for an
idyllic holiday. Across the bay is the island of Darya
Bahadurgarh. Be sure to visit the Balarama Temple and
Malpe’s oldest tile factory, set up by the Basel Mission.

MARAVANTHE
BEACH
Marwanthe is a unique seaside town of
Karnataka, where the West Coast Highway cruises along with
the Arabian Sea on one side, and the river Sauparnika
rushes against a verdant mountainous backdrop on the
other. It has beautiful beach nearby, which makes quite a
promising site for water sports and holidaying.

BHATKAL BEACH
The picturesque Bhatkal Beach is a scenic holy place of
Murudeshwar and is known for the gorgeous temple perched
on a hillock by the shore. With the roaring sea to the
west, the towering hills to the east and the coconut and
areca groves nearby, the temple attracts a lot of devotees
and tourists as well. The sea is an intrinsic part of the
templescape at Murudeshwar. The sea surrounds the temple
towering on the small hill called Kanduka Giri on three
sides. There is also a huge fort behind the temple, said
to have been renovated by Tipu sultan, the ruler of Mysore. |

MURUDESHWAR
BEACH
Murudeshwar Beach in Karnataka can be an exhilarating
experience. Karnataka has some of the famous beaches in
India. Secluded and clean the beaches are long stretches
of silver sand surrounded by palm trees. About 16 kms from
Bhatkal, Murudeshwar is said to have purified by
Pranalinga of Mahabaleshwara thrown by Ravana. If you are
traveling by air, Goa airport is the nearest while Hubli
is the nearest railways. Murudeshwar is located between
Honnavar and Bhatkal.

GOKARNA
Gokarna Beach in Karnataka is one of the popular beaches
of Karnataka where tourists spend days enjoying the scenic
beauty of the surroundings, the long stretches of golden
beaches and the cool sea breeze. Situated about 56 kms
south west to Karwar, Gokarna is a holy place of the
Hindus. According to the Puranas, one gets liberated of
sins when one visits Gokarna.

fish curries and a variety of rice calces.
