About Candolim Beach
Candolim is a beach that is very much in North Goa. The most basic attraction is Aguda Fort & Calangute Beach. The best time to visit this place is from December To February. Candolim Beach is quite peaceful than other beaches of Goa. This sandy stretch runs into Calangute Beach, a busy and commercialized center. The beach itself is long and straight, backed by scrub-covered dunes, which is very popular with package tourists. These beaches are quite peaceful and it is a dispersed village with no real center.

Fort Aguada
The forts of Goa are very small compared to other Indian forts. Aguada fort is one such fort, which is small in size. The fort derived its name from Portuguese word "Aguada" meaning "Water". The fort was built by Portuguese in 1612 AD near Mandovi River. The idea behind the fort was to protect Goa against any enemy attack from sea. Inside the fort, there is a spring , which was earlier used to provide water supply to the ships. Though the fort is not the best preserved monument in Goa, it exhibits the splendour of Portuguese rule in Goa. Currently at one end of the fort, the central jail of Goa has been made.

Getting There
By Road: Candolim beach is connected well with the rest of the country by road. One can avail the services of bus and taxi or hire a bike. Buses stop every twenty minutes at the stand opposite the Casa sea shell. Buses from Panaji (Panjim) stop frequently in Candolim.
