CHITTORGARH
The pride and glory of Rajasthan, Chittorgarh is a saga of valor,

and was struck by her mesmerizing beauty. But the noble queen preferred
death to dishonour and committed 'Jauhar'.

Vijay Stambh-
Vijay Stambh, meaning tower of victory, was built
around 1440 AD. Maharana Kumbha got this fort constructed as a commemoration
to his victory over Mohamed Khilji. The tower is nine stories high.
Providing with an amazing top view of the whole town are the balconies of
the fort. The sculptures of Hindu deities cover the Vijay Stambh. The tower
is illuminated in the evening, making you fall in love with its bewitching
beauty.

wealthy Jain merchant in 12th century, it is dedicated
to Adinathji, the first Jain teerthankar. Naked
figures of the Digambars adorn the tower. It is 22 m
and 7 stories high.
Meera Bai Temple-
The many Temples in Chittorgarh are some of the
most visited spots here. Meera Temple, Chittorgarh is
dedicated to Meera Bai, the princess who dedicated her
whole life to Goddess Krishna. Meera Bai the Rajput
princess was an ardent devotee of Krishna. It is said
that she was saved from poisoning because Krishna
drank the poison herself as a resultant effect his
whole body turned blue. It was built during the reign
of Rana Kumbha who patronized the building of Hindu
temples.
Padmini's Palace
Built beside a pool, this is a magnificent palace. It
was here that Rana Rattan Singh showed a glimpse of
Rani Padmini to Allauddin Khilji. Rani Padmini stood
in the Zenana Mahal, and her reflection was visible to
Khilji in a mirror placed in the main hall. Khilji,
after having a glimpse of the queen, was smitten by
her beauty and with the passion to posses her invaded
Chittaur.
Rana Kumbha Palace
Rana Kumbha Palace in Chittorgarh is an important
among the tourist attractions in Chittorgarh.
The biggest monument among the places of tourist
interest in Chittorgarh, the palace is a part of many
legends associated with the beautiful queen Padmini of
Chittorgarh. Named after the greatest of the Sisodias,
