BANGALORE
Bangalore is the capital city of the southern
Indian state of Karnataka. It is the seventh
largest city in India. It is also known as the Garden City
because of its many beautiful gardens and parks. The nandi
hills in Bangalore is not to be missed by the pious.
Though the origin of Bangalore is ancient, the
present-day city was founded in the 16th century and has
since continued to be an important administrative center.
Because of the high concentration of IT industry, it also
called the Silicon Valley of India.

MYSORE
Situated in the southern part of the Deccan
Plateau, Mysore District is an undulating
tableland, covered in parts by granite outcrops and
fringed by verdant forests. From ancient times, this
district has played a significant role in the history of
South India. Mysore is located at 770 m above sea level
and 135 km from Bangalore at 12.18° N 76.42° E. Mysore
is known for its palaces and proximity to several
attractions.Mysore (Hadinadu at that time) is believed to
have been established sometime in the eleventh century,
becoming the capital of a small kingdom founded by
Yaduraya (A chandravamshi kshatriya kinsman) from Dwaraka
who rescued a local princess from the clutches of a local
chieftan Maranayaka, after the unitimely death of her
father around the year 1399.

MANGALORE
Mangalore in Karnataka is located near the backwaters
formed by the converging Netravati and Gurpur rivers. The
city derives its name from the presiding deity
Mangaladevi, the goddess of fortune. With an important
port, this coastal town is a major commercial centre. It
is a centre for the export of coffee and cashew nuts. The
city has a modern port now. The major home industries are
Beedi's, Tiles, cashew and coffee curing and fishing.

HASSAN
The town of Hassan in Karnataka's southern district of
the same name, and is 934 m above sea level. It has been
named after the town's presiding Goddess "Hasanamba" and
is called Karnataka's temple-architecture capital. Hassan
dates back to the 11th century, under the rule of the
Hoysala Dynasty (11-14th century), who were largely
influenced by Jainism.

HAMPI
Located on the banks of Tungabhadra River about 350
kilometers north of Bangalore and 13 km from Hospet, the
village of Hampi in North Karnataka alludes to tremendous
historical importance. Sprawled over more than 25 square

home to giant temples, market streets, palaces, and
