KOTA : Since olden days, the Maharaos of Kotah (as Kota was formerly called) had always lived in the medieval Fort inside the city. An army headquarters and Rajasthan's premier industrialcenter, Kota is equally well known for often depict hunting scenes. There is an enchanting palace on a little island in the middle of an artificial lake. The fort and part of the palace complex are open to public and Rao Madho Singh museum is reputed to be one of the best in Rajasthan.
