Hyderabad, the capital of Andhra Pradesh, along
with its twin city Secunderabad has over 400 years of

Tourist Attractions in Hyderabad
Charminar
The Charminar in Hyderabad, at the capital city of Andhra
Pradesh, is a massive arch built by Mohammed Quli Qutab
Shah, in 1591 to commemorate the end of the plague in the
city. The symbol of the city, the Charminar, is an
impressive square monument with four minarets.
Golconda Fort
Since the time it was built, Golconda Fort has been
the pride of Hyderabad and Andhra Pradesh. Situated around
11 Km from Hyderabad, the fort was famous for its
impenetrable structure. The fort is considered as a
hallmark of excellence in military architecture. Golconda
Fort is one of the grandest forts in India.
Nehru Zoological Park
This is a 300 acre park filled with various species of
birds and animals. A sight not to miss.
Hussain Sagar
Hyderabad spreads around this lake which is the
largest lake in the city. It is surrounded by well
maintained parks.
Nagarjuna Sagar
The most prominent landmark in the city is the Buddha
statue, set in solitary splendour in the Hussain Sagar
lake, and one of the largest statues in the world. The
statue had an unfortunate installation. It capsized midway
and dragged some workers with it to the bottom.
Fortunately, the government was able to retrieve it in an
undamaged condition, and install it in its present glory.
Ocena Park
Ocean Park is situated at Gandipet, 20 km. from
Hyderabad, in 20 acres of landscaped gardens, an amusement
park that you haven't seen the likes of yet in India. It
is one of the first theme parks started in twin-cities and
continues to be a great hit especially with children. But
it is not the young ones alone who enjoy, even adults can
have lots of fun here.
Getting There
Air : Hyderabad has its own airport, so
travelling air to Hyderabad is not a problem.
Rail :The twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderbad are
connected to all the major cities of India.
Road : Hyderabad lies on National Highway No. 7 and 9,
hence is connected by the rest of the country.
