Amer Fort
At a short distance of 11 kms . from Jaipur, the
Amer Fort complex stands amidst wooded hills overlooking the Delhi-Jaipur
highway, with its forbidding ramparts reflected in the still waters of the
Maota Lake below. The palace or the royal apartments lies inside the massive
Amber fort complex with gateways, gardens, halls, stairways, pillared
pavilions, temples and palaces.
Hawa Mahal
Built in 1799, by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh the
'Hawa Mahal', Palace of the Wind, is one of the major landmarks of Jaipur. It
is an integral part of the City Palace, an extension of the Zenana (women's
chambers) standing away from the main complex. This five storey building of
unusual architecture designed by Lal Chand Usta, is a stunning example of
Rajput artistry made of red and pink sand stone, beautifully outlined with
white borders and motif's painted with quick lime.
Jaigarh Fort
The Jaigarh Fort is located on top of a hill. This
massive fort is flanked by tall and huge gateways and watchtowers and makes a

City Palace
City Palace forms one of the most famous tourist
attractions and a major landmark in Jaipur. The beautiful palace was built by
Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh during his reign. Among the various forts and palaces
of Jaipur, City Palace stands apart, with its outstanding art and architecture.
City Palace complex covers a huge area, which is divided into a series of
gardens, courtyards and buildings. Initially, Raja Jai Singh built the outer
wall occupying a huge area. The additional grand buildings were constructed
later by the succeeding rulers.
Laxmi Narayan Temple
The Laxmi Narayan is located in the South of
Jaipur, and was built by the Birla family, which is a major industrialist
family of India. This is why, the temple is also called the 'Birla Mandir'. It
is situated quite close to the Moti Doongri fort, which was converted to a
small palace by Ram Singh II and Gayatri Devi.
