Overview
Karni fort of Bambora, Rajasthan is situated
50 km to the south of Udaipur city. The Karni fort
bears close allegiance to the Rajputs and stands as
a witness to numerous royal battles. Recently, the
fort was renovated and converted into a heritage
hotel by Thakur Sunder Singh, a Sodhwa Rajput.
The Karni Fort has a long history. This Fort served
as the strategic outpost of the Sisodia Rajputs. The
Sisodias were known to be stubborn patriots who put
up heroic resistance to invasions in the 16th
century. Their blood curdling acts of supreme
sacrifice echo through this distinct Fort, situated
amidst the rolling hills, ravines and passes of the
Aravalli Hills.
