The Dal lake is one of the most
famous lakes in India. It lies in the heart of the city of
Srinagar, the summer capital of the state of Jammu and
Kashmir. t is located on the eastern end of the city. The
Dal Lake comprises of a series of lakes, including
the Nagin Lake some 8 km from the city center. One can

Nagin Lake
Leading from the Dal Lake is the smaller Nagin
Lake. Here, the waters are edged by trees of willow and
poplar whose reflection is mirrored in the lake. The
waters of the lakes are pleasantly cool from mid-May to
mid-September. Nagin Lake, which is farther from town,
have magnificent views of the mountains.
Shikara Rides on Dal Lake
During your trip to the Kashmir Valley, there lies an
opportunity to enjoy a tranquil shikara ride along the
pristine waters of the Dal Lake. A shikara ride
along the lake takes you to visit sites like Nehru Park,
Kanutur Khana, Charchinari, a number of floating islands
and typical vegetable farmer villages. The popular Mughal

Harwan Lake
