This 10 Days package lets you to explore the isolated country – Bhutan in the eastern Himalayas between China and India. Bhutan was opened to the world only in 1960s so the country is less travelled. The trip lets you to be in the heaven on earth. It covers all major tourist attractions of the Kingdom of Bhutan.

The trip is set to explore timeless mountain villages, spectacular fortresses, and ornate shrines as you travel across this bastion of Buddhist culture. We welcome you to join us to explore everything of Bhutan throughout this trip.


Day 1: Arrival at Paro airport and drive to Thimphu

The flight offers you breathtaking aerial views before landing this beautiful Himalayan Kingdom. You can witness the view of the top of the world – Mount Everest and Kanchenjunga, the third highest peak of the world. Other small peaks, glaciers, hills, Rivers, landscapes are another cool vista of your fly. 

Finally you will be welcomed at Paro International airport and soon we start the visit in and around Paro Valley after a short fresh in the hotel at Paro. Paro is the typical beautiful valley of Bhutan. And in the evening we drive an hour and half to Thimphu. Overnight stay at Namgay Heritage hotel or similar in Thimphu.

Day 2: Thimphu to Punakha

After your breakfast, we drive towards Punakha through dense forests of blue pine, oak, and rhododendrons. You will definitely enjoy the stunning views of mighty mountains in the Himalayan range and the valley beyond.  Again the road goes through the pine and cedar forest then we will reach to the Dochula pass which is situated at elevation of 3,050m from the sea level.  You will really be amazed witnessing the superb panoramic views of the Himalayas. The road descends along and bends to the beautiful Punakha Valley. Overnight stay at Hotel Lobesa or similar.  

Day 3: Punakha Sightseeing

After the breakfast we enjoy full day exploring Punakha. Punakha was once the capital of Bhutan so you can expect some historic and cultural places. We will visit the magnificent Punakha Dzong, situated at the confluence of two important rivers. Then we hike to the Sangchhen Dorji Lhuendrup nunnery. It is a popular meditation and training center for Buddhist nuns. After that we drive to Wangdue Phodrang to discover the town’s Dzong. In the late afternoon, we reach to Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten through rice terraces and pine forests. You can counter many picturesque places and things throughout your journey.

Day 4: Punakha to Gangtey

After the breakfast we start heading towards Gangtey. Gangtey is another beautiful valley which is also called as Phobjikha Valley.  You can see the winter habitat of rare black-necked cranes in the Black-Necked Crane Center. Black –necked cranes migrate from Tibet to Bhutan every year.  Overnight stay at hotel Dewachen or similar. 

Day 5: Exploring Gangtey

As usual we start the day with breakfast in the hotel. Today we will explore the Gangtey starting from Gangtey Goempa. Gangtey Goempa is one of the oldest Nyingma monasteries in Bhutan. It was built in 17th century.  After that we will walk across Phobjikha Valley to Khewa Valley. We will visit a farmhouse in the evening and enjoy the typical local dishes enjoying cooking with local host.  Overnight stay at Hotel Dewachen or similar.

Day 6: Gangtey to Thimphu

After the breakfast we start drive towards Thimphu. One the way, we visit several places including Buddha Point, Institute for Zorig Chusum and we take a lecture on Gross National Happiness which Bhutan proudly sits in a top in the world. Please note that on occasion the Institute for Zorig Chusum art school is closed due to school breaks and holidays. If it is not open on the day of your visit, another activity will be arranged. Overnight stay at Namgay Heritage Hotel or similar.

Day 7: Thimphu to Haa

We start the day after your breakfast in hotel. We then visit the National Memorial Chorten which is one of the most recognizable landmarks and a focal point of daily spiritual life in Bhutan. Then the journey goes towards remote Haa Valley. Today we will also explore Lhakhang Nagpo also known as the black temple and Lhakhang Karpo also known as the white temple. Both are ancient Buddhist shrines and said to be among the 108 temples built in one day by the seventh century Tibetan king Songtsen Gampo. Overnight stay at Rigsum Resort or similar hotel.

Day 8: Haa to Paro

We will explore more of picturesque Haa Valley by way of the dramatic Chele La pass. This pass is considered as one of the highest mountain roads in Bhutan. We will also hike through thick pine forests to the Kila nunnery, which clings to a rocky cliff. We then finally return back to the Paro where we have started our journey of Bhutan. Kyichu Lhakhang is another attraction of the day which is the oldest and most beautiful temple in Bhutan. In the late afternoon we will explore the local archery sports in the Archery ground. Archery is the national sport of Bhutan but they play in quite traditionally.  Overnight stay at hotel Olathang or similar in the Paro.

Day 9: Exploring Paro and Hike to Taktshang Monastery

After your breakfast, we drive back to Paro. After reaching the hotel we start hiking to the famous Taktshang Monastery. The monastery is also known as Tiger’s Nest Monastery. One and half house of hike will lead you to reach to the viewpoint.  We can have a tea/coffee at View Point Cafeteria. We will explore the Taktshang Monastery and walk back to the road after having lunch at cafeteria.

We will also visit the Kichu Temple. This is one of the 108 temples built in the 7th century by the Tibetan King Songsten Gampo. Overnight stay at hotel Olathang or similar.

Day 10: Departure

Today is your last day in Bhutan. After the breakfast we will escort you to the Paro International Airport for your departure. Have a wonderful journey.
